Bill Summary

Community Flight Safety Act of 1997 - Prohibits the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration from closing a flight service station that: (1) is located in the contiguous United States within 50 miles of the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, or one of the Great Lakes; (2) on an average of 180 days or more in a year provides services to aircraft operating under instrument flight rules; or (3) meets both requirements.
