Bill Summary
Deposit Insurance Funds Merger Act of 2001 - Amends the Deposit Insurance Funds Act of 1996 to: (1) declare January 1, 2002, the effective date for the merger of the Bank Insurance Fund with the Savings Association Insurance Fund; and (2) repeal the prerequisite for such merger that no insured depository institution be a savings association upon the merger date (Frist Amendment).
