Bill Summary
Strengthening the Safety Act of 2006 - Amends title XIX (Medicaid) of the Social Security Act to provide for the redistribution and extended availability of unexpended Medicaid disproportionate share hospital (DSH) allotments. Directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services to award demonstration grants to health access networks to improve access, quality, and continuity of care for uninsured individuals through better coordination of care.
