Bill Summary
Medical Billing Fairness Act of 2019 This bill requires hospitals, as a condition of Medicare participation, to (1) allow in-network patients, when scheduling a nonemergency procedure, to request only in-network treatment; and (2) if in-network treatment is not available, pay for any additional costs to the patient or the patient's insurer.
