  • Food Safety PL 111-353 FSMA, all titles, as relates to FDA regulation of livestock and poultry feed, pet food and animal food ingredients, including FDA registration, export certification, user fees, import certification, mandatory recall and standards of operation. Legislation related to USDA inspection of nonambulatory livestock at slaughter for human food. Issues relating to FDAs BSE feed rule on feed ingredients of animal origin in animal feeds and pet food. Monitor issues relating to FDAs approval of transgenic food animals and fish, with attention to contemplated or proposed labeling requirements for the foods therefrom.
  • Monitor developments both legislative and regulatory related to Free Trade Agreements, Trans Pacific Partnership and EU-U.S, Fast Track Authority, enhanced trade with Cuba. "Cash-Only" Food Aid Assistance; Monitoring of USDAs designation of U.S. trading partners as minimal risk regions relating to BSE status. Support for U.S. efforts to secure a new World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement on global trade.
  • Legislation relating to research and programs fostering development of alternative feedstocks for biofuel manufacture, and legislation relating to the extension of various tax incentives for the creation of bio-based fuels.
