Continue monitoring and reporting on fisheries and oceans-related legislation/initiatives including: the Executive Order #14008 on climate impacts to fisheries: the 30x30 conservation provision; and the reauthorization of the MSFMCA (HR 4690) Monitor USCG West Coast Port Access Route Study and report to Client Monitor and report on offshore wind lease sales by BOEM off the West Coast Report to Client on Marine Mammal Protection Act provisions contained in the NDAA to expand MMPA protections for large whales Monitor and report on MARAD Jones Act waivers granted to foreign-flagged small passenger vessels on the West Coast Monitor USCG, NOAA, & USFWS regulatory actions with potential impact on West Coast marine recreational fisheries, including sea otter reintroduction Monitor & report to Client on US Coast Guard development of electronic chart and navigational equipment regulatory changes Monitor and report to Client on US Coast Guard final rule on survival raft equipment requirements

It can be tricky to figure out how much an organization spent on a particular lobbying engagement. The law only requires lobbyists to report the amount they were paid for federal lobbying each quarter rounded to the nearest $10,000—and if it's less than $3,000 in a given quarter (or less than $13,000 for organizations with in-house lobbyists), they don't have to disclose it at all. Plus, some organizations include spending that doesn’t belong in the report—for instance, money spent lobbying state governments or other legal work.
