Asked by a friend how I would “harness that hopefulness.” I said by speaking to the pain points millennials face. How?

1) Acknowledge that pain. That engenders trust and is hard to accomplish w/o it. 2) encourage them to be engaged, not just by voting, but as co-participants in coming up w/ solutions and not just piling onto the political identities of previous generations.

3) as you’re thinking of solutions to new challenges, reframe old problems. Don’t think in terms of labels, think in terms of objectives. I.e don’t think as pro- or anti- Gun Control, think about reducing gun violence. Once you focus on problem solutions flow from there

Ultimately, labels make it difficult to understand eachother, detracting from our ability to even grasp the totality of issues we’re trying to tackle.

Anyhow, applying great minds and resources to take on this threat is always worthwhile, and if he can manage to churn out some vents he’ll save lives. Good for him. The world needs more of his disrupting energy

I deleted a tweet yesterday poking a little fun at Musk for probably trying to come up with a new drug to combat coronavirus but it’s basically just Tylenol. Wish I kept it up bc real life QT @elonmusk: Just had a long engineering discussion with Medtronic about state-of-the-art ventilators. Very impressive team!)
