Friend in LA had her car towed from in front of house where she lives. She’s been away a couple of months and registration had expired, so the city towed it. Looking at $400 all told, including new battery. What a racket. I love LA—but makes sense why so many flee to Texas

Many of my peers haven’t been able to afford homes. Wages are stagnant. And we’re the first generation that isn’t expected to be better off than our parents. We’re told things will get better if we just vote—for the same old candidates who got us here. So yeah, they’re peeved

This generation is angry because they were sold the false promise that a student loan was as close to a sure thing to economic prosperity as you could get. It’s lifted many, but also left many in economic ruts

I didn’t vote for Trump, but I empathized with those who did. I hope we can have the same empathy to speak to Bernie supporters in the same way. Anger and resentment doesn’t occur in a vacuum. This surge in populism is bc the “establishment” has fallen asleep at the wheel

Something is broken, and it’s not just politically. It’s a spiritual rot that prevents us from even being cordial, loving neighbors. Support for extremists like Bernie won’t fix it, but exasperated voters don’t see any other way out or up
