The oligarchs rely on the fact that no one will do what I did, that no one will buck the system; and never “bite the hand that feeds.”

They want you to think that if you play the game, you might get a piece of the pie. As a corporate lawyer, I saw how incestuaous campaign finance is. Ive given a lot up to finally fight for what I believe, to fight for democracy and America and resist oligarchy.

The oligarchs hate people like me because I get it, and I call it all out. They depend on a quiet complacency, and a hope that most people will just go with the flow.

Don’t be fooled. We need you, not just to vote, but to get others to vote. But please fight for ideas, and politicians that represent values. The party designation is just a hint. Look deep.

They want you to think you have less in common with your neighbor becuase of his or her skin color, than you do with some glad handing big shot.

The trick they pull is to get your to avoid free thinking and grass roots politics. They tell you to “vote the party line.” They tell you that it’s not the powerful you need to worry about, but the least powerful—refugees, migrant workers.

So how do we fix this? The good news is that oligarchy is a disease that has a cure. Grass roots politics, not blind party loyalty, can defeat oligarchy. Labor unions. Climate activism. Those things help and are part of grassroots politics.

With few expectations, it’s a country club at this point, whether you are a Democrat or a Republican.

Sadly, that’s often the most important factor between victory and defeat—“How much money do you have?” If I got to Congress, I will be among the poorest members, and certainly from one of the poorest backgrounds.

And the middle class died. Why hasn’t anyone done anything? Why is there such little pushback? It’s because. Politicians are reliant on a system where cooperate money is essential to their survival. Corporate cash can guarantee who wins and loses elections.

This led to glitches were pop-up billionaires appeared bot because of hard work, but because of merit, innovation, or hard work, but because of deception. Monopolies over new technologies (just like the Robber Barron era) formed.
