Because of low vaccination rates in some areas and the dominant Delta variant, cases are rising rapidly. In fact, areas with the lowest vaccine rates are the largest hotspots. Please follow CDC guidance to keep your friends and neighbors safe. https://t.co/Y1ft6lYnD7

I welcome the Biden admin’s naming of Daniel Foote as special envoy for #Haiti. It’s a positive step toward supporting the Haitian people in restoring their democracy. https://t.co/lpJTxs6iog
The Cuban government has throttled internet access and restricted messaging sites in an attempt to cut off communication and hide what is happening on the island from the rest of the world. https://t.co/8C4WRKnj8U

Simple screening for genetic conditions and other diseases can help save the lives of newborn children. I am glad the House passed this common-sense legislation and urge my colleagues in the Senate to do the same.
The House just passed H.R. 482, the Newborn Screening Saves Lives Act. I’m proud to be an original cosponsor of this legislation, introduced by @RepRoybalAllard, which reauthorizes newborn screening programs to ensure the health of newborn children.
I applaud the hard work of Governor Murphy, State Health Commissioner Perischilli, and all those who have worked tirelessly over the past months to get New Jerseyans vaccinated.
I commend the Biden administration for sanctioning 4 of Ortega’s cronies. This is a good step, but we must do more to prevent the consolidation of a one-party dictatorship in #Nicaragua. https://t.co/hMLcBb13mM

(1/2) At today’s @HouseForeign hearing with @ClimateEnvoy Kerry, I raised my concern about budget cuts to Brazil’s environmental protection agency and their impact on the Amazon. https://t.co/5XC2nfyp8v

@VP Harris’ announcement of assistance to the Northern Triangle will help communities battered by the pandemic, two hurricanes, and the impacts of climate change. To stem irregular migration, we must start by addressing the crisis in Central America. Read my statement here: https://t.co/CW5sRDFbvm
Today on #LatinaHistoryDay we celebrate the enormous contributions Latinas have made in our country and around the world. Let us continue to build upon their leadership in our communities.
It is a privilege to see this important work up close and I will continue fighting in Congress to ensure West New York, Hudson County, and New Jersey continue to get the vaccine doses we are entitles to.
The lucrative sugar and tobacco industries will remain under regime control. Independent journalism and labor organizing are still prohibited. I’m a proponent of meaningful reform, but this looks like window dressing—just the regime’s latest tactic to preserve itself in power.
For decades, I’ve called on the Cuban regime to eliminate its restrictions on independent economic activity, but the recent announcement to lift the state’s ban on some private businesses preserves far more than it changes. https://t.co/bvgUBra2JZ
