• Animal rights; "Humaneness" labeling; Animal health/new animal drugs; HR 1150, S. 895, S. 1256, HR 820 as well as guidance for industry (GFI 213/209) and other issues relating to end the use of certain antibiotics in animal feed if those antibiotics are used in human medicine. Monitor and counsel on issues related to contemplated or proposed/introduced federal legislation, including HR 1150, S. 1256, HR 820 & S. 895 and regulation related to restrictions on how, where and by who animal drugs may be used on farms and ranches, particularly in feed. Issues relating to efforts to require the federal government to purchase meat, dairy and poultry products only from farmers meeting certain animal welfare requirements, including a restriction on confinement housing. Issues related to the labeling of foods for humaneness. Private company welfare programs.

It can be tricky to figure out how much an organization spent on a particular lobbying engagement. The law only requires lobbyists to report the amount they were paid for federal lobbying each quarter rounded to the nearest $10,000—and if it's less than $3,000 in a given quarter (or less than $13,000 for organizations with in-house lobbyists), they don't have to disclose it at all. Plus, some organizations include spending that doesn’t belong in the report—for instance, money spent lobbying state governments or other legal work.
