Project Description

Improve gravel road on Highway 515 between Bakwa and Delaram connecting to Highway 1.

Project Goals

To improve the gravel road between Bakwa and Delaram thereby providing an efficient ground transportation route for population centers in Bakwa District to Highway 1. An efficient ground transportation route from Bakwa to Highway 1 will increase standards of living for the residents of Bakwa District by improving commerce, services and communications in the area. Comments: The existing unpaved road (Highway 515) between Bakwa and Delaram is the main route between population centers in Bakwa District and Highway 1. It is also part of an alternate route between Highway 1 and Farah City, the Provincial Capital. It is currently in poor condition and impassable during wet conditions. Re-graveling and re-grading this road will increase driving time significantly as well as provide for safer conditions for travelers.
