Project Goals

Repairing all damaged buildings affected by clearance operations will allow villagers to return to Tarok Kalache and will demonstrate GIRoA and ISAF forces' commitment to the Afghani people. In order to better secure the village, the landowners and villagers must be present in the village. With the village occupied, not only will the gardens and village be more secure, the value of the land will increase. As the summer approaches it is extremely critically to counter the negative perception that was created with last summer's clearance operations. Creating a positive perception will foster an attitude of pride, leading to better security of the improved infrastructure and agriculture in and around the village. Repairing Tarok Kalachahe to a pre-operational state will positively effective the operating environment throughout Western Arghandab for years to come.
