Project Goals

The damage to the culvert was caused by driving over the culvert which then crushed the culvert. The damage to the bridge and irrigation ditch was caused when the linebacker overturned on to its side, thus causing damage to the irrigation ditch. The recovery of this vehicle damaged the bridge.

Urgent action is required to stop the water from overflowing into the Shamal Storrai village, and also flooding the local farm lands. The people of Shamel Storrai will benefit from the proposed work. The contractor who will be employed will employ 100% Afghans to reconstruct the culvert, ditch, and bridge. The start date and finish date can not be presumed until authority has been given for this task and no other agencies have been contacted to help this project. The upkeep of this task after the work has been finished will be the responsibility of the local people from Shamal Storrai. GIRoA will not contribute to this because this was caused by a US callsign.
