Project Goals

Local workers with prior Cash For Work managers (now Civil Infrastructure Reconstruction managers)work groups conduct renovations to the elder/local determined facility to be used as the temporary primary school. The renovations will include the repairs listed above and will be detailed in price for each individual task. The project will be completed over the course of the next 2 months until mid june. At that point, the temporary school will be satisfactory for use until the permanent school site is determined, and the construction is initiated. When the permanent school is completed, the supplies from the temporary school will be transferred to the permanent school--if aplicable--and the site that was donated for use will be returned in a better state than it was given in. The minor constructions will coincide with the use of the school for daily classes and therefore not disrupt the trial school process. The success of this project will determine the level of local support for the permanent school as they see the ability of the MoE, GIROA, and the ANA to provide for the needs of the local people of the greater Kandalay area voiced by their elders in the bi-monthly Shura.
