Project Description

Draw bulk funds to use as a quick funding source for the 649th RSG Commander to respond to urgent humanitarian relief and reconstruction requirements. The bulk funds shall only be used for condolence, battle damage, former detainee, Afghan Hero, and Commander's small scale project payments.`

Project Goals

Provide a quick funding source for condolence, battle damage, former detainee, Afghan Hero, and Commander's small scale project payments. This shall enable the Commander to quickly respond to urgent humanitarian relief and reconstruction requirements.

Results

The bulk draw has been paid out in three claims to Fazullah Baquebullah, Rahmattal Amiri, and Abraham Khodaidad for a total of $10,000.

Mar 2 2010 On October 01 October, 2009 in the village of Barakzi, Zharay District, Kandahar Province the claimant was working in a field when a firefight erupted between the US Forces and the Taliban. He was injured when a bullet entered his side and entered his right arm, breaking it. The injuries that he displayed were consistant with his statement. He was treated in a Chinese clinic and in a hospital in Pakistan.

Abraham Khodaidad was paid $1,200.00 for his medical expenses on 03 March 2010. Mar 2 2010 On 7 June, 2009 in the village of Angurian, Dand District, Kandahar Province Sultan Mohammed's wheat field was burned and his wheat crop destroyed when a helicopter dropped flares. His damages were caused by a US helicopter. Sultan Mohammed produced photographs and paperwork as proof of ownership of the wheat field. He also recieved a signed confirmation letter from his Shura and produced correspondence from the Afghanistan provincial Kandahar government's office verifying his claim. Mar 2 2010 On 2 November, 2008 in Kandahar City, District 1, Rahmattal Amiri's son's (Farhad) right arm was shattered amd badly burned by a flare. The son was playing outside of his fathers shop when a Us convoy fires a flare. The son'd father went outside because his son was screaming. The father poured water on the burning arm and then took his son to seek medical help.

Rahmattal Amiri was paid $5,000.00 for his medical expenses on 10 March 2010. Mar 3 2010 On 1 January 2010 in the village of Ashoqa, Zharay District, Kandahar Province, a raisin factory owned by Fazullah Baquebullah was destroyed by an airstrike from a U.S. Aircraft. Fazullah Baquebullah produced photographs and documentation as proof of the raisin factory which he owned. He also received a signed confirmation letter from his Shura and produced correspondence from the Kandahar provincial government's office verifying the claim. The allegation was independently verified through the Air Force that U.S. Air assets were operating in the area and that they dropped ordinance.

Fazullah Baquebullah was paid $3800 for the damage to his raisin drying hut on 03 March 2010.
