Project Goals
Route Lakers is severely impassable to 4-wheel vehicle traffic due to erosion and many years of neglect. Road renovations in this area will increase economic development and assist farmers in getting their crops to market. The farmers currently have to transport their crops in smaller quantities just to get to market in Kandahar City for sale or export thus cutting their profit. Improving this road will assist in creating economic sustainability with inter-connecting villages. This road improvement will surely benefit the farmers market today and for years to come. Reasonable measures have been taken to ensure that other aid and reconstruction funds (local, national, donor nation, nongovernmental organization (NGO) or other resources) are not available.
