Project Goals

Mr. Ali Zay operates a Metal/Craft shop. He primarily makes stoves for heating and cooking purposes, metal water coolers, and axe heads. Ali Zay claims he is a proficient welder and can diligently work with metal to make any item.

Ali Zay has operated his business for 5-6 years. He is not happy to see Taliban or US forces in the area. He would like to be left alone and have a legitimate government in Afghanistan. He feels the current Afghani administration is corrupt. He was still very friendly and welcoming to CF.

He requests an in-kind grant: Generator (2HP), welding machine with fuel, metal saws, power drills for cutting metal, hammers of various head sizes, and metal press machine that can smooth out sheet metal IOT help him continue and expand his Metal/Craft Shop in Qalthe Qalat Bazaar area. With the grant, he would be more effective with his time and make better products. He would also be able to hire more employees as well. Material is not difficult for him acquire, only the tools he currently has available make him work slower. A generator would allow him to use power tools as well. He currently employs 3 people, and he forsees he could employ 5-6 people if he had electricity.
