Project Goals

The Sarab to Zardengay work program project will greatly increase the quality of life in the villages adjacent to and connected by this segment of road network. The employment opportunities will be substantial. The road will generate work opportunities that also impact decreased travel time and increase access and economic efficiency of merchants and farmers in the Karmisan valley region by allowing a more direct access North/South to Bazaars in Chora. This project will also allow the contractor to hire and pay cash to local unemployed nationals daily, to do manual repair of roads in the formentioned Districts. This project will directly support economic stimulation in at risk areas historically neglected by GIRoA, and development efforts by providing 120,000 cash for work days to local nationals during the winter season.
