Project Description
Anwar Jan's son, Abdul Hadi, was killed in an excelation of force incident on or about 16 August in the village of Khenjakak, Panjwayi District, Kandar Province. The vehicle that his son was driving was damaged or destroyed. Anwar Jan produced five witnesses that stated Abdul Hadi was driving a van through the village and that he was shot as a suspected vehicle suicide bomber by ISAF forces conductin g a three day operation with the 25-30 vehicles in the village.
Project Goals
The CERP battle damage payment is not an admission of legal liability or fault. Rather, thses payments are gestures made by the US Armed Forces to express condolence to individuals and families. It is meant as a symbolic gesture and not as compensation for a loss.
Results
Project was completed as desired.
Updates
9-9-2011: After reviewing attached media, this project will be changed to completed. This action was taken as a result of a CIDNE information cleanup effort.
