Project Description

Construct a new building for the Orgune Hospital specifically designed to serve as an intensive care unit.

Project Goals

Reason for Project: Expand the Orgune Hospital with a modern facility to increase its patient capacity. Located in the Orgune Bazaar and staffed by three to five doctors, the existing Orgune Hospital is a modern structure that offers the most advanced level care in an eight-district region. The only thing holding back its potential to do more is space availability.

Desired Project Effects: Increase the capacity of the Local National operated healthcare services in eastern Paktika. Local National support for the IRoA and CF increase as they demonstrate their ability to meet the needs of its people.

Measurable Effects: The increase in capacity will be measured by comparing the numbers of patients admitted to the Orgune Hospital before and after the expansion project. Tribal leaders, particularly those from the border areas between districts who are traditionally not as politically active, attend District planning meetings more regularly and cooperate in order to bring more development to their regions.
