Dr. Patricia Molina is the Principal Investigator on the above referenced grant sponsored by the NIH-NIAAA. Dr. Nicholas Gilpin is the Principal Investigator on a project that is funded by Dr. Molina’s grant. The goals of this project are to impact knowledge, attitudes and behavior toward HIV and alcohol use in 1) PLWHA and individuals at risk for HIV and/or alcohol use disorder, 2) in practicing and in-training health care providers, and 3) in scientist and trainees working in the field of biomedical consequences of HIV and/or alcohol use disorder. As required by CM-35, Dr. Gilpin disclosed that he has a potential conflict for this project due to his relationship with a company whose business interests are related to this research.
LSUHSC-NO Comprehensive Alcohol-HIV/AIDS Research Center
The LSUHSC Comprehensive Alcohol-HIV/AIDS Research Center (CARC) is a multi-institutional, multidisciplinary team of scientists focused on understanding the interaction of alcohol use disorders (AUD) and HIV disease. CARC activities encompass basic and clinical translational research, training, mentoring, and information dissemination.
