Project Description

Comprehensive surface and ground water study covering sixteen (16) provinces in Afghanistan which will result in identifying potential water resource projects and improve utilization of existing resources which will benefit the people of the region.

Project Goals

The objective of this study is to evaluate potential water resource projects in the province of Kabul, Afghanistan.

The final report will assist GIRoA in identifying potential water resource projects and improve utilization of existing resources which will benefit the people of this region.

Projects may include: watershed restoration, hydropower, flood control, erosion control, groundwater resources, irrigation dams, and canals.

The report will provide guidance on how to assess, address and implement water resource projects in a responsible and sustainable manner involving Afghan participation, improve utilization of water resources and prioritizing potential projects to maximize return investment.
