I feel the GOP & the local Democratic establishment actually have a lot in common, namely their loyalty to the wealthy elite. @CatGural @EssexClerk They gave me COVID as their excuse. Which is possibly the most hilarious excuse possible, when: 1) I didn’t request physical records 2) They can very easily search the digital records 3) I saw have ppl working in person w/ my own eyes

@leboism It’s a good idea, one I support, but that’s step 1. 1 or 2 NYCT stops on the NJ side of the Hudson doesn’t solve the bigger problem of general mobility in this community. It’s not enough. I think we need a system on par with the NYCT Subway to move ppl between points in NJ.

The point of having a government or an economy is to improve the lives of all. Anything else is pointless exploitation.

“Jersey City is a diverse city, but when I looked at the make up of Ward commission, it’s not diverse.” This latest commenter as well as many others have made this observation. These ppl were all appointed by the political bosses, this shows their values. #jcwardmeeting

I think a big problem w/ our gov is the complete abdication of power from the legislature to the executive & judicial branches. Congress is broken b/c as an institution it hasn’t adapted. Expand the House & Senate, & make Senate elections proportionally representative. /1

“It seems like your vote no longer counts.” They us to believe that, but they thrive on SUPER low turnout. An earlier commenter mentioned how Fulop was elected with only 10% of all voters in JC. Imagine if we had a voter turnout rate that our democracy deserves? #jcwardmeeting
