Project Goals

The improved Route Zoo will increase accessibility of local law enforcement, allowing local police to respond more efficiently to local security needs in the area, and will provide access for thousands in the community greater access to health care, government services, increased employment, and education. Specifically, the rehabilitated Route Zoo will ease access to the following locations:

a. Loya Wala and Alef Saha Comprehensive Health Clinics

b. Kandahar University

c. Central Bazaar Area

d. City Hall

e. Mirwais Hospital

f. Police Sub-Station (PSS) 9 and Police Check Point (CP) 9-3

This project is critical to bringing stability to the community along this vital route; improving security, and access to government services, health care, economic development, and building confidence in GIRoA.

Updates

QA/QC conducted on 28DEC10 with the support of KPRT Engineer. All work is to standard. KPRT Engineer discussed with site engineer the possibility of laying DBST once temperatures increase. Site engineer will notify PPO/KPRT Engineer when DBST will be suitable for laying. 

This project is the same as CIDNE project 20100705090429. This new project was created at J8 direction dure to project 20100705090429 originally being funded in FY2010, but during FY2011 requiring a funding increase. The new funding was done under a new STANFINS number. For all project documentation, refer to the original project.

Project is currently at 50% completion.
