Project Description
This project proposes to fund the purchase of materials for the rehabilitation of prison facilities; provision of additional hygiene facilities; restoration of an exterior wall; and the purchase of a generator, septic pump truck, security enhancements, and humanitarian supplies.
Project Goals
The goals of this project include: 1) Increasing security of the facility to lessen probability of NTS escape and increasing the ability to repel attack. 2) Protecting inmates and staff from danger of crumbling wall falling and causing injury or death. 3) Providing inmates with minimal protection against the elements. 4) Providing basic human needs. Comments: If not funded, the incarceration conditions at HCP will remain inhumane and the facility will remain highly vulnerable to internal and external attack. The risk of death is significant in light of the cold weather of the upcoming winter months.
Results
Project was successful and all objectives were met.
