Project Description
Clear sand and silt from 20 km of the Lashkari Canal in two different locations in order to allow water to flow into Zaranj and surrounding villages for both irrigation and drinking. The two locations, from south to north, that need excavation are from Kilometer Post 17 to 24, and from Kilometer Post 30 to 43.
Project Goals
Clear silt and sand from affected locations throughout the Lashkari Canal, widen the Lashkari Canal to its original design plan, and ensure and maintain a 0.5% slope of the base of the canal. This will allow the water in the canal to flow freely throughout Zaranj and surrounding villages, which will be used for drinking, and irrigation. Comments: Project Manager, Capt Davis
