RT @cait_duffy: "You are basically telling us we're yelling into the void." Diane Atwell (fingers crossed I correctly caught that name, really wish there was a speaker's list) has summed up all our feelings so well. #jcwardmeeting

RT @carlyberwick: Griffin cont: We are dealing with a Democratic org that when you look at this map says they do not care about minorities in this community. There's a portion that if you added back to Ward F would make it more continguous. I would suggest you take it back

@CatGural @EssexClerk In JC, it’s the other way around, they straight up dgaf and just got rid of the virtual option.

RT @cait_duffy: Thank you @RLavarro for those incredible comments — this is absolutely a chance for Jersey City to lead by example at a crucial moment in history ? #votingrightsnow

The councilwoman makes an excellent point: Bayonne lacks good mass transit. Respectfully, the best solution is to invest in mass transit & freight rail connections to the port. More trucks & cars makes congestion & air quality worse, whether you live in Bayonne, Newark, or JC. https://t.co/w8Xm3gtcoW QT @HudsonCoView: )

“Attorney-client privilege” If he wanted to hire a law firm to tell him that he’s doing a bad job, he didn’t need to use the taxpayer’s money. I thought that what the multimillion dollar PAC full of shady developer money was for. QT @SumitAndTheCity: This kind of lack of transparency undermines trust in this administration. https://t.co/2v5blV7EZe)

It’s a shame to see how the labor movement has been captured & co-opted by the machine. It shows how fauxgressive Murphy actually is. To the state and national press he’s a progressive b/c he’s not a conservative like Gottheimer. But actions speak MUCH louder than words.

I’m still a full time engineer! I work at a proton therapy center helping to treat cancer. It’s a cool job, but not “Papi is a Senator” money. I’m having a fundraiser on 2/12 to raise to reach & activate our neighbors! Looking forward to meeting you! https://t.co/ATzAQHIi2O https://t.co/T5RRv4jphS

RT @nwaknine: Incredibly disappointing to sit through 3 hours of thoughtful public comment just to watch the Board ignore all of it. To not even take a few minutes to consider the concerns of the public before holding a vote is a disgrace. JC residents deserved better

.@Chris_L_Gadsden did some important work here: he got them to admit that they don’t care about what we have to say because they’re not answering any of these questions. They’re not changing their minds, they should be ashamed.

When they got married, Abuela’s family shunned and disowned her for marrying outside of her socioeconomic class. In a poor country w/ a history of violence they raised 9 kids when the only thing they had to give them was their love and an education.

Congressional districts having 700000+ ppl turns them into multi-million dollar affairs, making it harder for ppl who aren’t rich & well-connected to run. It limits the diversity of people who can become US Reps. /5
